ABOUT INTERWOVEN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Interwoven Occupational Therapy is an outpatient clinic specializing in animal assisted occupational therapy. We are located at The Children's Ranch in Los Angeles, CA. We use the context of animal caretaking to provide skilled occupational therapy services. Founded and run by Etta Iannaccone, Interwoven prides itself on evidence-based practices in a non-traditional clinic setting.
Etta graduated with her doctorate in occupational therapy from USC in 2019. She continued her education through post-doctoral work at Skyline Therapy Services in New Mexico. While there she studied and passed her Hippotherapy Clinical Specialized exam. She has also completed the USC Ayer's Sensory Integration certificate. Etta has presented at conferences nationally and internationally discussing how, when, and why animals can be incorporated into occupational therapy. She values education and is constantly striving to learn more and also to help teach and bring up the next generation of occupational therapists.
Etta believes the human-animal bond, and the unique demands of caring for animals, is an excellent context for meaningful occupational therapy. She believes that through meaningful and functional activities, people, big or small, can meet their goals and lead a more fulfilling life.
